How to create a Google business listing on Google My Business

In this tutorial, we will be showing you how to create a Google business listing on Google my business. Every business should be listed on Google it is the biggest search engine in the world and having a listing here can only benefit a business. Once you create a Google business listing using a Google My Business account your business will show up on Search, Maps, and Google+ however, without one, your SEO efforts will be that much more difficult. A Google My Business account means that reviews of your business will show up on the right-hand side of Google search results – letting your customers know at a glance how others have rated you.

  1. Sign up or sign in

You will need a Google account to create your Google business listing, so if you don’t have one you can create one quickly. Go to and click ‘Start now’ or ‘Sign in’ if you already have an account made.

2. Enter your business details

After you have created your account or have logged in you will then have to enter your business name to find your listing (If you find your business already at this stage then skip to step 3). Once you have entered your business name then you have to add your address and use maps to find your businesses exact location. 3. Verify your listing

In order to verify that you are the business-owner, Google will send you a verification postcard to the address you have provided for the business. The postcard takes between 1-2 weeks to arrive; once it does, it will contain instructions on how to verify that you are authorized to claim your business. You don’t need to wait for the postcard to arrive to start populating your account, though – you can get started right away. If you cannot verify straight away you can still continue however it leaves your listing open for anyone to edit and claim.


4. Set up your profile

Now you have to add your details to your business, the more you add the better. Add some photos and videos and add in your contact details locations and working hours.


5. Connect your accounts

If you go to the top-right corner and click on the grid of squares, you with have access to all the categories mentioned above. This is where you’ll connect all your accounts including  YouTube account, Analytics, Google+ page, and more. It will also give you access to your reviews, and allow you to respond to them. Adding this in will only make your business look better and attract more traffic.

After all that has been done, that is you finished.
